As someone who has been a longtime fan of Chris Cuomo and watched him from his early beginnings on Good Morning America, I am extremely proud and thrilled to see him make the transition from ABC to CNN. Chris is an amazingly classy reporter who not only inspires, but gets the job done without ever compromising his passion and humility. He has been someone who has proven time and time again that integrity in journalism still exists. I have had the extreme honor and privilege of exchanging words with Chris, who I lovingly call “Mo” and wish him all the best, and continued success as he dives into the next chapter of his career. I will be eagerly watching and anticipating the new show!
I started watching Kate Bolduan early last year when she joined The Situation Room and immediately fell for her style. She’s extremely intelligent, eloquent, and charmingly fresh, proving she’s not just a pretty face on TV. She may just be 29, but she was born to anchor. Her chemistry with Wolf Blitzer is exciting to watch and definitely contagious as the two are in great harmony with one another. Come spring, I am extremely excited to see how she and Chris work their magic in the mornings! Kate has it all and is definitely a great role model for young, up and coming journalists as well. She is extremely passionate and dedicated to her work and seems extremely humble about it, which is incredibly admirable. When my best friend mentioned a few months ago that he attended high school with her, I couldn’t help but shriek like a 10 year-old fan-girl and embarrassingly enough resorted to badgering him and imagining how Kate and I would be BFFs, and of course he would be replaced. My mind still goes a little nuts because, honestly…what a small world. My BFF went to high school with Kate Bolduan and I get the opportunity to exchange words with my mentor, Chris Cuomo. What are the odds?
But all fan-girling aside, CNN made an amazing decision choosing Kate and pairing her up in the mornings with ‘Mo! I’m very much thrilled for both of them and wish them continued success. Without further adieu, I present to you, my latest article for The Hudsucker:
As if there wasn’t enough talk this week about morning show shuffles with Anderson Cooper possibly replacing Matt Lauer on The Today Show, CNN has officially announced in a press release from earlier this morning that Chris Cuomo and Kate Bolduan will co-host the network’s new morning show set to premiere this spring. In addition, Michaela Pereira of Los Angeles’KTLA Morning News has been tapped as news anchor for the program.
“I’ve been looking forward to this announcement since I first joined CNN,” said President of CNN Worldwide Jeff Zucker. “Chris, Kate and Michaela are a dynamic team that will give our viewers in America a new way to start their day. We were floored with excitement when we saw Chris and Kate together on screen, and by adding Michaela to the mix we feel we have something very special. We believe there is an opening to do news in the morning with a fresh, new voice.”
